Celebrating A New Horror Release For Jason Daniel Kowalczyk

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of VAMPIRE LAWMAN, a new horror thriller by Jason Daniel Kowalczyk.

Jason was born in Lorain, Ohio, to Jeanne Furci (now Wysocki) and Stanley John Kowalczyk (1942-2009), grew up in Lehigh Acres, Florida, then Long Beach, California, and returned to Florida to finish High School. He currently resides in Moberly, Missouri with his fiance, Melissa, and her son from a previous relationship, Alex..

For thirty years he lived in Florida, writing as a hobby until he moved to Missouri. His first book, "The Blood Companion," was finally finished in 2007. He later slammed into overdrive and belted out several within the next three years.

Jason has been a writer for almost his entire life. He writes his tales as if he were sitting on the couch together with his readers, having a conversation. Writing the way he does has opened him up to a lot of criticism in his chosen career, but whenever he begins to think about changing his style, he'll get a phone call or an email from a reader telling him how much he or she loved his work and wondering when the next book will be along.

So no matter what happens or how small or large his fan base becomes, Jason will always be grateful for the fans he has and will strive to entertain them every chance he gets.

"Jay is one of the best story-tellers I know. He has a way of painting a picture with his words that really draws you in. He has a vivid imagination and is an open person who always wears his heart on his sleeve."-Melissa Tetreault-

VAMPIRE LAWMAN by Jason Daniel Kowalczyk

The "Blood Companion Series" ended with the Great Disappearance, leaving behind only a few of those who were brought to life over the ten years that the series ran.

Here you learn more of Cacious, who was brought to life in the "Blood Companion" as the poor Vampire that was rotting through his existence. Cacious was born in the early 1800's and has seen plenty through his existence, including the Great Disappearance.

Follow Cacious as he deals with the affects of that event and struggles to keep the city of Alucard Heights under control.

  1. Super congrats on the new release Jason!!!

I read you believe this is your best work and I can't wait to read it.

For those not familiar with your books or the Blood Companion series, can you tell us just a bit about the series, how this new books fit with it and if the other books need to be read first.

I'd love to learn more about Cacious, too.

Enjoy your very special day and I hope VAMPIRE LAWMAN is your biggest seller yet!

  2. The Blood Companion series leads into this new series that begins with Vampire Lawman. I write all of my books to be "stand alone" tales, but all of them fit together into a puzzle. Cacious is a bit of a flaky vampire that was born and raised in Alucard Heights when it was only an Ol' West town. He became Sheriff before he was turned into a vamprie, it was a job he never gave up. His reluctance to feed brought on an odd version of the vampire curse, his body continued to decompose as if he was still dead. His body gets to the point that he wraps himself with duct tape to keep from falling apart.
This is his story, how he overcomes his curse and watches over the city, even after his closest friends disappear off the face of the earth.

  3. Oh I love the spin you put on this vampire tale. Is it pretty dark or does it have a bit of black humor in it? Sounds like it could.

Any idea yet how many books will be in this new series?

  4. It has black humor in it, and things that will just make you giggle, because that is how the character is. I am not sure how many books will be in the series, so far there are ideas for at least 6, but there could be more. It all depends on how the story unfolds.

  7. Hi, Jason.

I discovered this series a month or two ago and find it fascinating. I look forward in reading it.

I like your book covers; they are quite unique. Do you work with one particular artist?

    Thanks,

  8. Most of my book covers are my own design. Some were supplied by the website. The cover of Serendipity was donated by one of the authors that submitted. I have been trying to get back into my artwork again so that I might be able to do my own covers someday. The cover for the Hardcover version of Vampire Lawman was supplied by lulu.com, the cover of the paperback was my design. I thought it would be nice to see an image of Cacious on the cover.

  12. I'm a big fan of horror and dark paranormal. And I love the zombie aspect you bring up with your vampire who doesn't want to feed.

I'll be checking this out for sure. Will there be a romance running through this series, or it is the focus more on the paranormal?

Best of luck with the book and the new series!
